About tuberculosis

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the tubercle bacillus.
It is spread by inhaling tubercle bacilli contained in coughs and sneezes.
If you experience symptoms such as coughing, phlegm, a fever, and/or lethargy for more than two weeks,
please seek medical advice.
※For more information, visit the Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association's website(외부 사이트).
You can access explanations in multiple languages.
(Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, Indonesian, Mongolian, Portuguese, Tagalog, Burmese, Vietnamese, Russian,
 Spanish, Hindi, Nepali, Thai)

If you are diagnosed with TB

TB is a disease that can be cured with medication. Patients take multiple medications daily for approximately 6 to 9 months.
Even after symptoms disappear, the medicines should be taken until the determined date.
There is a system in place that provides financial support for TB treatment.
※For more information about this system, please see"Information on Tuberculosis Treatment(PDF:245KB)."
