What is COVID-19?
COVID-19 is the disease caused by a coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2.
The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are
- fever
- chills
- sore throat.
People who have pre-existing health problems are at higher risk when they have COVID-19; they should seek medical help early if worried about their condition.

The following measures are effective
Ventilation
Hand washing, Hand sanitizing
Wearing a mask
- When visiting a doctor, medical institution, or elderly care facility
- When taking a crowded train or bus, such as during rush hour
If you are symptomatic, avoid crowds and wear a mask when going out.
Consider having COVID-19 antigen test kits, fever medication, and other daily medications in advance.
COVID-19 Vaccination
It costs money to get COVID-19 vaccination.
When the following persons receives COVID-19 vaccination in the fall or winter, Yokohama City will pay for part or all of it.
- Persons 65 years of age or older
- Persons between the ages of 60 and 64 with a defined disability.
Anyone can get COVID-19 vaccination all year round if they pay for it all themselves.
