Going to hospital during times of disaster in Yokohama City(요코하마시에서 재해시에 병원에 걸리려면)

During times of disaster, medical institutions may become inundated with injured people, and may be extremely chaotic. There are only a limited number of medical institutions in Yokohama City. By keeping in mind the following important points, you can help alleviate congestion and allow people to receive the treatment they need.
1. Find out and remember where your local medical institutions are before a disaster happens.
2. Judge what kind of medical institution you should seek treatment at depending on the urgency and severity of the medical condition.

For light injuries and illnesses that do not require hospitalization, please seek a medical consultation at a nearby clinic which escaped damage from the disaster.
*During times of disaster, clinics which escaped damage and which are accepting patients fly a yellow flag stating "Treating Patients."

Treatment at evacuation sites, etc.

Medical rescue crew members will be on hand at evacuation shelters, evacuation sites, etc. to provide medical assistance to people with minor injuries.
Medical rescue crews comprise of local doctors, nurses, pharmacists, etc. who make rounds treating people and examining people on the spot.

System of dialysis treatment during times of disaster

During minor disasters (disasters in which the region's infrastructures remain intact but only some medical facilities are unable to provide dialysis treatment due to some kinds of damage), patients will be treated through collaboration between nearby medical facilities providing dialysis treatment. In the case of major disasters (disasters in which the region's infrastructures have been disrupted), arrangement will be made to convey patients to areas outside the disaster-hit region, such as other parts of Kanagawa Prefecture.
