Types and prices of city bus passes

If only using city buses → City bus pass
If using both city buses and the subway → Combined bus/subway pass
If using other operators'buses for your journey → Multi-bus pass
Economical unlimited city bus travel for persons aged 65 and over → Senior pass

* With the exception of unlimited passes such as and multi-bus passes and Senior passes, bus passes cannot be purchased from subway station ticket machines or offices. Please purchase passes at travel pass counters.
* Please enquire at travel pass counters regarding pass fares for special system city buses (distance scale route sections) only.

Buying a city bus pass

When to buy

14 days before start of new period of use
* When buying a new student pass (for the start of a new school year), you need to show some documents. Please check this page for details.
*When buying a new Senior Pass, you need to show an identity document. Please check this page for details.

For bus passes, we recommend using PASMO.

City bus passes can take two forms: PASMO/Suica smart cards and paper passes. Combined bus/subway passes can be either PASMO cards or magnetic passes.
Paper passes cannot be reissued. However, named PASMO cards ("My Suica") can be reissued if lost.
PASMO cards ("My Suica") can store both a bus pass and a train pass at the same time.
When buying a pass, please say if you have a PASMO or Suica card.
An additional 500 yen deposit is required when buying a new PASMO card. This is refunded when you cancel your card.

City bus depots

  • Closed for the New Year (Dec. 31-Jan. 3). All city bus depots are closed from Dec. 28 to Jan. 5.
  • To purchase a new student pass or renew an existing one for the new school year, you will need to show certification. These passes are therefore only available from station offices, and not from subway ticket machines.

City bus pass refunds

  • Except where obtained from a station ticket machine, you can obtain a refund wherever you bought your pass. Except where obtained from a station ticket machine, you can obtain a refund wherever you bought your pass.
  • Bus pass refunds are calculated per diem.
    You will be refunded the balance obtained by subtracting the amount corresponding to the number of days used (assuming one round-trip journey per day) and a processing fee of 220 yen from the price (face value) of your pass.
  • Obtaining a refund requires personal identification and your signature or seal.
  • Cash refunds cannot be made if you bought your pass using a Hama Eco Card. You will need the Hama Eco Card used when you bought your pass.
  • If you purchased duplicate passes or want to change your pass type, please ask at a travel pass counter.
