30th Anniversary of Sister Ports Agreement between Hamburg and Yokohama!

We visited the onshore power supply facility of the cruise terminal Altona and hold a workshop with experts of the Hamburg Port Authority.

This year, we celebrated the 30th anniversary of Sister Ports Agreement between the Port of Hamburg and the Port of Yokohama since the conclusion of sister ports agreement in 1992. The Port of Yokohama is the oldest sister port in the Port of Hamburg's sister ports. Until now, we have deepened exchanges with the Port of Hamburg by holding joint seminars and mutual exchanges, and have developed a friendly relationship between the ports Hamburg and Yokohama.

Ceremony for the 30 th anniversary of Sister Ports Agreement

On 31st May 2022, in Hamburg, Germany, our delegates visited the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) and meet Mr. Jens Meyer, CEO of HPA to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the sister ports agreement. A video message from the Director General of the Port and Harbor Bureau was played and exchanged our views on sustainable port management for decarbonization , which is a common issue for both ports.

Site visit of the onshore power supply facility(OPS) of the cruise terminal Altona and workshop

On 30th May 2022, we visited the OPS for cruise ships at the cruise terminal in Altona, in Hamburg Port.

Port of Hamburg

The Port of Hamburg is located in the north part of Germany and in the downstream side of the Elbe River, and is one of the biggest container port in Germany. Since the Port of Hamburg earned the privilege of the exemption from the custom duty as the free port from the German Emperor in 1189, the Port of Hamburg stands with a history of over 800 years.
Since October 2005, The Port of Hamburg is managed and operated by the Hamburg Port Authority that is invested 100% by the City of Hamburg, as the successor of the City of Hamburg.
